Accommodation
visitors can choose from a diverse range of accommodations that blend historic Welsh charm with the scenic beauty of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park.
Town Centre & Historic Hotels
For those who want to be steps away from the main venues like Theatr Brycheiniog and The Guildhall, the town centre offers several landmark options. The Wellington features a classic Georgian facade right in the town square, while The Castle of Brecon Hotel provides a riverside beer garden and a sense of history near the ancient castle ruins. Another boutique option is The Coach House, known for personalized amenities.
Bed & Breakfasts and Guesthouses
Brecon is renowned for its welcoming B&Bs. Borderers Inn, a former 17th-century coaching house, offers unique, character-filled rooms just a short walk from the Cathedral concerts. Mount Street House provides luxury Georgian townhouse stays, while The Beacons Guest House offers traditional Welsh hospitality. For a rural retreat only ten minutes from the festivities, Nythfa House serves as a charming “nesting place” with extensive gardens.
Glamping and Camping
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the August weather at various local sites. Camp Cynrig Glamping Village offers luxury bell tents and riverside cabins with private shepherd’s hut kitchenettes. 68 Degrees West in nearby Cradoc provides glamping pods with panoramic views of Pen y Fan, while Cefn Cantref Campsite caters to traditional campers and trailer tents just five minutes from town.
Self-Catering and Unique Stays
Airbnb listings in the area range from canal-front cottages to “tiny house” shepherd’s huts. These are ideal for visitors who prefer a private base for the weekend.
Pro Tip: Accommodation fills up months in advance for the Jazz Weekend. It is highly recommended to book by early 2026 to secure a spot within walking distance of the music.
